about me
I put my heart into my work and I work with people I like. I love my work. I also love being in the wild, surfing, gardening, reading and jasmine green tea.
I work in a very intuitive way – ideas come in all sorts of places, from the ocean to the apple tree in my garden. I find out as much as I can from my clients about their needs and desires. I quote a fixed price, regardless of amendments, so as long as the brief stays the same the client has no unpleasant surprises, and along with that price I give an outline of the ways my initial ideas are headed.
When the client gives the go ahead, I start to doodle. I scan the doodles in and work with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to flesh those doodles out. We work together, my client and I – they need not be afraid of speaking their mind, for both of us want a perfect solution and that has to come from honesty.
I can also source print. I know a wonderful independent print sales expert who provides me with printing quotes. He gets the best prices and when things (occasionally) go wrong, he finds the best way to fix them. He’s brilliant.
Current clients include the National Museum Cardiff, CIO Connect, the Welsh Music Foundation, Ealing Borough Council, Savonnerie Soap, Be Amazing Today, New Venture Publishing, the IISP, Honeyspring, Shamanic Shoestrings and Mocha Choca Latta.
Gwasanaeth Cymraeg
I learned Welsh in school and I’m learning it again, via Cardiff University’s evening classes. This time I’m going to become fluent. I’m confident working with the language (ond does dim digon o hyder i ysgrifennu fy ngwefan yn Cymraeg – eto!*) and have plenty of experience designing bilingually.
*for all you lovely Saes out there, this says (I hope) “but I don’t have enough confidence to write my website in Welsh – yet!)”
