Logos

Your logo is (or should be) who you are, visually. I regularly receive phone calls from people who want to know my price for a logo. I’m pretty sure that these people are calling around to find the cheapest designer.

I am not the cheapest designer.

I do, however, offer great value for money. Logos start at (and usually cost) £500 + VAT. Very complex designs will cost more. Get in touch to discuss your requirements and receive a free no-obligation quote.

All logos are supplied as monochrome, CMYK EPS and RGB JPEG, which means you’ll be able to use them on email, website, powerpoint, printed on stationery or as big as you like, for example on the side of a van or a building.

The initial consultation is free. Once you’ve agreed to commission me, I’ll ask all new clients for 50% of the balance up front. This is so I know you’re serious and aren’t going to get me to spend hours creating a labour of love for you, and then disappear. When you’re happy with the logo, I’ll ask for the remaining 50% before sending you the files. All existing clients get 30 days’ credit as per usual.

Business cards

newsflash! Want logo, business cards and stationery designed at once? Ask me for a discount!

my business card

my business card

If you already have a logo, you probably want some cards. Memorable ones – ones that don’t look as if they’ve been designed to a template from a bargain on-line print multinational. My cards are foil-blocked scarlet on to recycled packing board. Oh, and they’re square. They never fail to make people go “wow!”. Is that how you want people to react to your cards? Well, then give me a call!

“It is impossible to overstate the importance given to business cards in the Far East. Without exception the logo and the cards got the right reaction from both investors, and suppliers” – Richard Tierney, Demanding Women

Design costs will vary depending on how complex the design you want is. As a rough guide, I have charged between £100 and £300 (+ VAT) for design; usually at the lower end of that scale, though. Printing really depends on the kind of card, shape, finish and quantity you want.

Stationery

As per business cards, allow around £100 for the design of both letterheads and comp slips (that’s £75 each-ish if you want one and not t’other). Print prices vary – depending on quality of paper and quantity.

Brochures and flyers

From single-sided A5 flyers for landscape gardeners to 200-page directories for huge corporations, I’ve done it all. I’ll need to find out what you want before I can give you a per-page rate – download the Awesome Briefs Guide to find out the kind of things I need to know. I can help you source print or work to your preferred printer’s specs.

Magazine design

…is one of the biggest challenges and therefore one of my favourite things to do. To create a coherent, flowing whole where the visuals and text reinforce each other, while each article retains an individual sense of identity, is a wonderful thing. I currently produce two magazines, both of which I designed from scratch.

There are many things to consider, and it’s important to set the tone exactly right. I charge a flat rate per page which will depend on the amount of work involved for me on the average page – anything from £40 to £100 per page plus VAT. This includes all photoshopping of images, all amends (not many designers include this), repro work and sending files to press. A good editor will also allow a decent budget for photography and illustration – it’s difficult to get a publication to look good when you’re working with passport photos and clip-art.
